Placenta Salve…..What is it?

One of the add ons I offer is Placenta Salve.

Placenta Salve is made with my salve base and has dried placenta added to it.

It’s great for skin irritations, dry skin, perineal or c-section scarring once healed.

A very small portion of clients report (about 1%) experiencing negative effects with encapsulation including headaches and mood swings. Usually a usage adjustment fixes that.

Heather turns a service into an experience. She encapsulated my placenta for my daughter 2 years ago and I already received my capsules from my son who was born 4 days ago. She creates and sends beautiful keepsakes in addition to your capsules, as well as a whole care package that is so beautifully packaged. I felt that the capsules really helped me in postpartum with my first and I assume it will be the same this time. She picks up your placenta directly from the hospital and does everything in a timely manner. She was even able to accommodate me when I reached out to her 3 days prior to my scheduled C-section. If you plan to have your placenta encapsulated in the Philadelphia area I could not recommend Heather's services more.

First I love ALL the people who refer to me. It makes me feel so supported and validated in what I do. However, when the referral comes from an OB/GYN that just hits different. The reason is because they are usually the last to get on board with placenta encapsulation. They are not very educated on it and instead of researching it they go by hearsay. So yes, swing OB/GYN makes me stop for a second.

HOW MANY PILLS WILL I GET?

How many pills will I get is a super common question I get but it doesn’t have a definitive answer. It all depends on how big the placenta is and how you chose to have your placenta prepped.

Larger placentas produce more pills. That’s pretty obvious. Something not everyone is aware of though is if you chose to have your placenta steamed first that will reduce your capsule count.

On average a raw start encapsulation will yield between 125-150 capsules.

On average a steam start encapsulation will yield between 75-100.

I had a different amount of capsules with each of my postpartums I encapsulated with. My biggest baby’s placenta yielded the most and the smallest yielded the least.

Of course I love placenta encapsulation! Is it for everyone, no but should everyone do it? Yes!!!! Even if you don’t take the capsules you can do other things with them besides keeping them in the freezer. My favorite use for capsules is using them as plant fertilizer for indoor and outdoor plants!

My favorite saying is “it’s better to have them and not need them, than need them and not have them.”

I have had families call while in labor, while holding the new babe and even before they got a positive pregnancy test.
